Performing every year at the “Caledonian Folk and Blues Festival” since its first run, Yard Of Ale return to the Guildford Arms for its 25th year from Thursday 15th to Monday 19th.
Guitars, banjo, fiddle, mandolins and harmonicas along with some nifty three part harmony and plenty of good crack between numbers has established the band as a complete entertainment package. Their repertoire and its presentation is a refreshing slant on popular folk music which has proved to appeal to all tastes.
Yard Of Ale perform regularly at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, folk festivals, concert halls, pubs, clubs and hotels.
They have recorded 4 CD albums and are featured regularly on local, national and international radio stations. Their music was also featured in Irving Welsh’s film “Ecstasy”.
“These guys know how to entertain with an eclectic mix of songs and their excellent musicianship on guitars, with some banjo, mandolin and fiddle appearing in the mix. They perform numerous Scottish and Irish favourites and broaden out to include songs from Steve Earle, Bob Dylan, Rick Nelson and Lindisfarne.”
